Continuing the NME cassette theme! C81 was a highly influential tape jointly released by the NME and Rough Trade back in erm 1981! You can read more about the tape here.

Only 13 of the 25 tracks are on Spotify but it’s still a great little playlist and contains my favourite ever Buzzcocks song!

The Charley Pocket Jukebox was a cassette given away in 1982 with The New Musical Express now simply known as the NME of course! It was re-released as a CD in 1993 with extra tracks but this playlist stays faithful to the original tape. It’s only missing one track that being Can’t Get Enough Of That Stuff by Julie Lee. So enjoy a bit of blues and soul as indiefy slowly comes back to life!

Outdoor Miners – Twelve Hundred Dollars (2009)

It’s been a blazing start to 2010 for singles. Canadian band (and with that name they must be Wire affectionados) produced an EP of bittersweet fuzzy pop guitar tracks at the end of last year and it has slowly made it’s way to these shores. It was well worth the wait!

Decoration – Don’t Disappoint Us Now (2008)

Decoration were formed in 2004 and John Peel soon became a fan inviting them to record sessions for his show. They released their début album Don’t Disappoint Me Now in 2005 and since then have released further albums in the shape of Flippant and last years See You After the War.

The bands sound is not to dissimilar to that of early Wedding Present and both bands share the same fans. Don’t Disappoint Us Now is a expanded version of the début album and includes tracks taken from a Dandelion Radio session alonside demo recordings.

Dandelion Radio Festive 50′s

As mentioned in the last post Dandelion Radio have been collating and broadcasting the Festive 50 since 2006. I have now completed all the play lists for all the Dandelion Festive 50′s to date. There were more tracks on Spotify than I imagined there would be. Enjoy!

Festive 50 2009

The Festive 50 is now collated and broadcast by the internet radio station Dandelion Radio. By it’s very name you should be able to unravel the Peel influences and the inspiration behind the station.

The station has been running the Festive 50′s since 2006 and I have been put off from collating the playlists as I am not expecting too many of the tracks on Spotify. However after compiling the 2009 Festive 50 I will start putting the rest together. I mean 25 out of 50 isn’t bad!
